Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a ritual I do the night before Thanksgiving... stay up all night! The reason is simple... I run watch patrol of the turkey which has been carefully stuffed and placed in the oven precisely at midnight. Every 2 hours I check, baste and ponder whether this year the turkey and stuffing will be as good as last years. And every year it is! Funny how rituals work that way.

Computers work the same way though... if you repeat the task over and over again not only does it work but you usually learn one thing new to do the next time. New clients amaze me when I return on the second visit to find they have already figured out a thing or two that we did not discuss in the first meeting. The problem is that rituals don't always take place every day.

So if you learn a new ritual to perform on your computer, do what I do with my turkey... write it down. It only takes a minute and saves you the tremendous frustration of forgetting. Someone once told me "if you write it down, then you can afford to forget it!"
