Finding Favor in Your Favorites

Favorites or Bookmarks as they are called in the Macintosh world are places you have saved to visit at a later time without going through the task of typing in the website. For example, if you wanted to visit my website for the first time you would need to do the following:
1. Double click on Internet Explorer or Safari if you're a mac person.
2. At the top in the long, white address bar click on the address that is there right now.
3. Now hit the backspace or delete key to remove the address.
4. Next type in www.instantanswer.net and hit the ENTER or RETURN key on your keyboard.
5. This would then bring you to my website.
6. By the way, now that you're at my website, look at the top and see if you can find where it says FAVORITES or BOOKMARKS (they both mean the same thing).
7. Click on FAVORITES OR BOOKMARKS one time and then choose ADD and then OK.

Now let's see if we can reduce the number of steps it will take to get back to my website.

1. Double click on Internet Explorer or Safari if you're a mac person.
2. Click on FAVORITES OR BOOKMARKS one time and then scroll down to the very bottom of your list and see if you don't see INSTANT ANSWERS.
3. Click one time on INSTANT ANSWER and you will open up my website.

HMMM... 5 steps in the beginning and only 3 steps in the latter. Not a great amount of time saved but more so is the THINKING that has to go into remembering the website address. In the first part you had to know what my website address was (www.instantanswer.net). In the latter you simply had to look through your favorite list and find INSTANT ANSWER.

So the next time you come across a website that you really like... STOP... THINK... ADD TO YOUR FAVORITES!
